Area of Expertise: The Design Thinking Organization

Terrence serves as EHS Director for a multi-faceted energy firm, responsible for the oversight of environmental compliance for thirteen power plants in Western North America. Technologies deployed within the western fleet include hydroelectric, wind, biomass and gas. Responsibilities include EHS oversight of each plant or project’s development, construction and operational phases. This includes all environmental aspects of project development permitting activities, construction implementation and mitigation management. Position involves multiple project locations in multiple states in the western US, as well as multiple provinces in Canada. Primary responsibility is the oversight and assurance of environmental compliance with a wide range of regulatory jurisdictions over a varied geographic territory.

Common duties included: conducting compliance inspections, audits and assessments; providing leadership, direction, and management to cross-functional regulatory compliance teams; interacting regularly with plant and asset managers, subject matter experts, regulatory agencies, other utilities, and relevant parties; performing planning, prioritizing, staffing, scheduling, processing, and other management activities; representing the company with other business units, corporate center, corporate level management, regulatory agencies, governmental bodies, and other relevant parties; managing data and information requests from staff, state and federal regulatory agencies, and other interested parties; developing workforce capabilities, including managing employee and contractor performance.
