Nicole began her career in wealth management at Merrill Lynch in Santa Barbara, California. She spent three years as a Client Associate performing research analysis, trades and client services. With dynamic interests, she decided to move across the country to Washington, D.C. to pursue a career in microfinance and international development. She worked in and out of Africa for the next eight years, responsible for $300M portfolios across Uganda, Kenya, Somalia, Tanzania, Zambia, Liberia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Mauritania and Rwanda. She led the financial management for diverse projects including clean water and sanitation, child protection, climate services, agriculture, HIV/AIDS, food security and humanitarian aid and disaster response programs.
After working two years on the emergency response to the Ebola epidemic in West Africa, Nicole decided to pursue domestic economic development instead in her hometown of San Diego, California. She joined the City of San Diego's Economic Development department at the beginning 2018 and moved on to the Department of Finance the summer of 2019. She currently manages the City's budget development, financial long-range planning, and revenue forecasting. |
