Michael Henry

Michael Henry serves as Vice President of Human Resources for Sonic Healthcare USA.  In his current role, Henry is responsible for leading Sonic’s overall human resources strategy, US talent acquisition, leadership development, organizational design and cultural development, compensation and benefits, HR operations and technology, and employee relations.  As Vice President of Human Resources, he has changed the function, culture, and impact of HR across the organization to support its business goals and strategies as well as the needs and goals of its 9,600 employees throughout the United States.  

During Henry’s tenure, he has led numerous acquisitions of diagnostic laboratories in California, now making up WestPac Labs, Inc., and the acquisition of Aurora Diagnostics, a national pathology laboratory comprised of hundreds of pathologists and nearly 1,500 employees.  The Sonic Healthcare USA footprint has grown from 7,500 to nearly 9,600 during Henry’s tenure.

In his role, Henry has overseen efforts that have resulted in: more effective and streamlined talent acquisition practices that better utilize technology; a restructured retirement benefit program; an initiative to compliment compensation with robust benefit programs, comprehensive talent management and talent development programs; and continuous evaluation and delivery of programs employees want.

Prior to joining Sonic Healthcare USA, Henry served in various HR leadership roles in healthcare systems, the transportation sector and in the aerospace industry.

Henry holds degrees in business administration, and an M.B.A. − from the San Diego State University in California.
