Mary Gallagher earned her bachelor of science degree in Business Administration from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona with a major in marketing and an emphasis in ethnic studies; her master’s degree is in Business Administration from Pepperdine University with an emphasis in international business; and her Ph.D. is in Education from Claremont Graduate University with an emphasis in community college administration. Her dissertation topic was a study of “The Relationship Between Strategic Planning and Assessing Student Learning Outcomes in California Community Colleges,” which included an excerpt published in the peer-reviewed Journal of Applied Research in Community Colleges.
Mary has been in higher education for several decades as a full-time instructor and department chair, financial aid and admissions, college business operations, and now college president. She has worked in all types of post-secondary institutions ranging from proprietary vocational education to graduate programs. Mary also has been consulting with colleges for over a decade, with expertise in planning and accreditation. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and writing. |
