Area of Expertise: Empathy & Storytelling, Ideation & Innovation Jose is currently Assistant District Director of the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL)/Wage & Hour Division (WHD) at the San Diego District Office. He has a wealth of experience with the WHD in different capacities with the agency. Before his voluntary transfer to San Diego, Jose was the Director of Operations for the WHD Southeast Region in Atlanta GA. Previously, he was the District Director of the WHD Minneapolis MN district office; he was the Assistant District Director in WHD San Antonio TX; and he started his WHD career as a Wage Hour Investigator in West Covina CA. He has received many performance and special achievement awards, including the Secretary of Labor’s Exceptional Achievement Award. Jose received a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Texas in San Antonio. For relaxation, Jose enjoys running, and has completed over 20 marathons. He is one of the founders of the DOL Baker2Vegas running team, and is still actively involved with the team. He also enjoys DIY home projects, reading, volunteering with disadvantage youths, and spending as much time as possible with his wife Emma, and daughter Marlowe. |
