Area of Expertise: Empathy & Storytelling Cory, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, has been at Phoenix House since 2014, first serving as Program Director for Wraparound Services in Orange County. In June 2016, he was promoted to the Director of Quality Resources for the entire organization in California, and in 2017 he became the Regional Vice President of Quality Resources and Patient Care, for California and Texas. Finally, in 2018 he was promoted to his current role as Vice President, Clinical Director. Cory has over 12 years of experience working in the mental health field and with community based non-profit organizations. He began his career in Human Resources and eventually became an HR Manager at a local non-profit in Orange County. Once obtaining his Master’s in Counseling, Cory worked as a therapist for Laura’s House, an agency dedicated to the treatment and protection of domestic violence victims. He then went to work for Canal Elementary, a school focused on working with youth diagnosed with emotional and developmental disorders. Since 2011, he has worked as an LMFT in his private practice, specializing in addiction and substance use disorder. He has extensive training in evidence based practices and currently utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Feedback Informed Therapy. He is a current member of the California Association of Marriage & Family Therapists. |
