Ajay Das is a Lead Data Scientist and Applications Engineer at Electric Power Group, LLC. He has experience in performing data analysis and building data products that leverage user research, intelligent algorithms and effective data visualizations to provide unique value to customers. Ajay is also a data science mentor and educator at Thinkful/Chegg and is passionate about sharing knowledge and helping others succeed in data science.
Ajay gets to wear multiple hats through his work experience. As a Data Scientist in Power Systems industry, he works on analyzing and productionizing high-resolution time-series data from sensors installed in power system substations to provide timely and relevant information to operators and engineers regarding static and dynamic state of the system to take appropriate actions. In addition to that, as a Product Manager and QA Lead, Ajay has led development and testing activities for a number of products dealing with processing, visualizing and reporting of power system data and metrics. Ajay has an MS in Mechanical Engineering and 14+ years of experience working on various areas of product design, development and deployment activities. This includes data analysis and development of algorithms for data processing, visualization and prediction. As an avid learner, Ajay has completed numerous online/offline certificate programs and courses through various institutions including Art Center College of Design, Udacity, Coursera, Microsoft and IBM. His areas of interest ranges from Data Science/AI, Product Management/Design, and Business Strategy.
